Local Excursions

February 17 and 18, 2010

All registered conference participants are welcome to take part in daytime excursions in the Saint Louis area on Wednesday and Thursday (February 17-18) during Phase I of the Symposium. Excursions will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at approximately 2:00 p.m. Excursions will depart from and return to the Hotel Indigo. Lunch will be included. The cost of the excursions is $35.00. These excursions provide an ideal way for participants to see local attractions and spend time together in an informal setting.

Wednesday, February 17: The Saint Louis Museum of Art is one of the nation's leading comprehensive art museums with collections that include works of art of exceptional quality from virtually every culture and time period, including medieval Europe. Lunch will be served at a nearby restaurant.

Thursday, February 18: Tour of the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis. This magnificent building is a unique fusion of Romanesque and Byzantine styles. The ceilings are covered in the largest mosaic collection in the world, covering 83,000 square feet, some depicting the life of Louis IX. Lunch will take place at a restaurant in the Central West End.
